While at a conference in Anaheim in 2022, I took an Uber to Huntington Beach to spend some time decompressing from the crowds and the presentations and the extroverting. I walked through the sand in my bare feet. I let the Pacific Ocean wash over my toes so I can now say I've touched both the oceans. My first time visiting an ocean was in 1993 when I flew to Jacksonville and spent a few hours on Atlantic Beach before writing news stories across northern and central Florida. I remember the floral and coconut scent of sunscreen (because I don't want to turn the color of a lobster) and salty ocean air. I remember the breeze on my skin and the cool water lapping over my toes.
So when I first breathed the fragrance of Maison Margiela's Beach Walk, the florals, Pink Pepper, and Coconut Milk took me right back to those beaches.
